bio.

i hail from western massachusetts and currently live in lenoir city, tennessee. i moved here to live with my boyfriend and have been attending the university of tennessee as a painting major for three years now. being a catholic-raised crazy liberal, i feel as if i've just begun to understand knoxville's southern ways. in turn i've created this blog as a way to discover east tennessee's ever interesting culture. as much as i grow to hate it's absorbing conservatism, i grow to love it, too.
for one i have yet to understand the god-fearing folk, the housewives, the racism, the homophobia, the lack of allowing women to chose to have their babies (and the grotesque nature of displaying that disdain) as well as the almost orgasmic loathing for our current president. as i find myself more and more being able to identify with demons in tennessee as i can with angels, i also find that i would probably never want to move back to the comfort of my democratic home town and in fact i find similarities in the people and the places everyday i'm here.

however, the one honest truth i've found to this place is that tennessee is insanity. every orange day.
